While Google and ChatGPT are still vying for the search throne, Perplexity has made a final move with Comet – a smart AI-integrated browser that understands context and acts as your personal assistant.

Comet can:

Remember search history and context, no need to ask again
Automate complex tasks: finding documents, writing reports, research
Search according to your purpose, not just keywords
Assist you while you browse, study, work, or read documents

Normally, you would need a Perplexity MAX account, priced at $200 per month, to use it. However, there is currently a small trick to install it completely for free – before it gets locked.

How to Get Early Access to Perplexity Comet for Free

Step 1: Download the Sidekick browser (link is in the comments below).

Step 2: Open Sidekick and skip all account creation steps.

Step 3: Wait 1–2 minutes for the blank tab to load → when the message "Please update browser" appears, click Update.

Step 4: After restarting, the browser will show a popup inviting you to use Comet → click Claim your Comet Invite.

Step 5: Log in or create a Perplexity account → download Comet → open it and start your experience.

This trick could be fixed at any time. Take advantage of this early experience if you want to know what it feels like to have an AI truly accompany you on every webpage.
