Visual Studio is required to work with the . NET Framework 4.8. If the . NET Framework 4.8 is not already installed, it will be installed during setup.
Developing Universal Windows apps, including designing, editing, and debugging, requires Windows 10.
Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2016 can be used to create a Universal Windows app from the command line.
Installing Visual Studio requires the WebView2 runtime.
If not already installed, it will be installed during setup.
Visual Studio installation will fail if WebView2 cannot be installed successfully (due to a configuration error or Group Policy limitation during installation or upgrade).
Office 2013, Office 2013, or Office 2010 is required to integrate the Office 2019 Team Foundation Service Pack.
Smart App Control, which is a Windows feature, is not recommended for users to install on developer computers.
Any setting other than "off" may negatively affect Visual Studio performance.
