Or more specifically it could be described as BitCoin’s “scalable cousin” whose aim is to make BTC usable for everyday payments and DeFi.The next BitCoin may actually be BitCoin!
$HYPER (BitCoin Hyper) is a Layer-2 cryptocurrency built to scale BitCoin by enabling faster, cheaper transactions and smart contract functionality. However, unlike BitCoin, which is slow (7 transactions / second) and costly $Hyper will integrate smart contracts into the BitCoin ecosystem (something Bitcoin itself lacks) and focus on high throughput, low fees, and DeFi/NFT integration. It will be able to do this through the use of modern frameworks like the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) and zero-knowledge proofs to process thousands of transactions per second.
With a maximum supply of 1 billion and up to 79% APY staking available as an initial incentivisation for adoption (which tbh honest raises some suspicion – but this may be because I got burnt by Celsius) it is positioning itself as a hybrid between a meme coin and a utility token which will make the best of both worlds in crypto, that being BitCoin’s security coupled with Ethereum’s scalability.
Price Forecasts vary widely, reflecting crypto’s volatility and many analysts are predicting in the short term that a value between $0.05–$0.32 will be achievable with a view to it reaching $1.00 by 2030. This of course will depend heavily on adoption and market conditions and assuming they are met it will continue to grow from there.
This article is completely left-field for me, because of how I stumbled across my source material. I saw a PTC on a faucet site that was basically asking the question what would be a contender to be another 1000x token and it was the first one that came up and with its close affinity to BitCoin it piqued my interest. I will readily recognise that analyses up to 2030 only suggest a possible 20x growth (and there was me just at the weekend getting excited about a 5x potential growth in Cardano), but who knows from there. Time will tell whether $Hyper is just that, market hype or if it has real utility and even so whether it is able to stand up against the competition or weather the stormy seas that are known commonly as regulatory uncertainty. The bottom line as always remains in any coin’s ability (and $Hyper is no exception) to attract real users beyond speculative presales.
I have looked into presales and how to get hold of some, but at the moment I have found it all a bit vague. It is available on Coinbase wallet for example, but there are several “Hyper” Coins and to add to my confusion there doesn’t seem to be a standard token icon for it as yet. I have seen many iterations and therefore, I cannot guarantee that I am investing the right one.
