Volatility Compression & Expansion Trading Framework

Market State

The crypto market is currently alternating between volatility compression and sudden expansion, a condition often preceding strong directional moves. During compression phases, liquidity builds quietly as market participants position themselves ahead of a breakout. Expansion occurs once this stored energy is released, typically after a false move in the opposite direction.

This environment rewards traders who identify compression early and enter during expansion, not during the chop.

BTC is trading within a narrowing range, with decreasing candle size and declining volume—clear signs of compression.
